REALLY GOOD

We were a group of 9 golfers staying here for 4 nights for the 2nd time. Everything worked really well, Philip and his colleagues were really friendly and welcoming and the hotel is perfect for us to use as a base. The rooms, mostly twin, were a good size, well equipped and very clean. Breakfasts were always good and as ordered and we all ate dinner in the hotel on our final night which was perfect. Would definitely recommend and return again.

 Golfing Tour

I organised a golfing tour in East Lothian. We spent 6 nights at the Dunmuir Hotel. The rooms were well furnished and cleaned very well. The breakfasts and the meals we had were of the highest quality. Above all the service in both the restaurant and the bar was impeccable.

Outstanding. Simply outstanding. 2025

I have been on a golf trip to Scotland every year for the past 40 years and have stayed at many excellent hotels in true golfing areas. The Dunmuir Hotel in Dunbar is in the perfect location for some of the best courses in the World. Our trip consists of 12 men and the hotel caters perfectly for our needs. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The twin rooms are perfect for our needs. The food at the hotel is absolutely outstanding. The bar has a brilliant range of drinks and stays open until we retire (sometimes in the wee early hours). The owners, Philip and Lesley, are always on hand to offer help and guidance when needed. I simply can't find a single fault.

Absolutely Fabulous May 24

Once again, Philip, Leslie and their team have pulled out all the stops. We are a group of 12 men on a golfing tour and use the Dunmuir as our base. The golf in the area is awesome. The hotel is incredible. Year by year, it improves under fabulous owners. They get to know everyone in the group and look after us as family. The hotel has been constantly updated to an excellent standard. The catering is truly outstanding. The attention to detail is second to none. I honestly can't fault it in any way. All our requests were met and then some. To such an extent that Chef asked if we had any special requests for the menu. I asked for lamb cutlets for tge following evening and..... the best lamb cutlets I have ever had were presented. Mmmmmmmm. Looking forward to our next visit 😀

Littledale - Brilliant!! 24

7 of us stayed at the Dunmuir as a base for a 4 night golfing holiday in the local area. The hotel was excellent and highly accommodating throughout.

Rooms were great and served us all well. None of the 7 complained and all seemed to have had decent sleeps.

Restaurant and bar were fantastic. For ease we ate here on all days and the restaurant was always very busy a fantastic sign for visitors when locals are enjoying themselves!! The food was very very good. Breakfasts too!!

Overall a brilliant trip and a hotel that no doubt will form the base of further Scottish golfing trips!!

Thank you for your cooperation. The play enjoyed very much and fell in love with Scotland. The dinner in the hotel was excellent and I have appreciated how your staff looked after my guests. I hope to have the opportunity to work with you in the future.

Just a line to thank you in particular and all your staff for making our stay so enjoyable. As the manager of the golf club I can appreciate how demanding customers can be and you and your staff were exemplary in dealing with everything we threw at you.

If we ever return to the area, or if anyone is thinking of visiting, I wouldn't hesitate in booking or recommending the hotel.

I just wanted to thank you for hosting us at Dunmuir on Sunday evening. Your staff was tremendous in making our experience feel like home. The food at the 1902 Grill was hands down the best meal of the trip. My colleague will be talking about his lamb dish for years to come! Thank you again and I look forward to working with you as we bring groups to Scotland's Golf Coast!

21 Golf Courses within easy reach

Scotland is the home of golf, and East Lothian is Scotlands Golf Coast boasting no fewer than 21 golf courses, all with friendly clubhouses and affordable green fees. Two of these courses are right here in Dunbar. Dunbar Golf Club (a short walk from the hotel) is a championship links course, while Winterfield Golf Club offers a challenging headland course on a windy day!

Other courses are no more than 20 minutes by car and include Gullane, North Berwick, the renowned Muirfield and Musselburgh (where golf has been played since 1672). For the more adventurous, Scotland offers more than 500 courses, more than 60 of them in and around Edinburgh. An hour’s drive by car will take you over the Queensferry passage into the “Kingdom of Fife”, putting you within easy reach of world famous courses like St Andrews, Carnoustie and Gleneagles.

The hotel would be pleased to advise those planning organised golfing trips to our 2 local courses.
